Connor Storrie has reacted after Hudson Williams spoke out about parasocial fans.
Hudson admitted he “didn’t quite realise the level it could go to” until he saw how emotionally invested viewers had become. He compared it to people wanting the couples from Twilight and The Notebook to be together in real life.
Honestly, I get that the fans are into the characters. If you love watching two characters together, you’re probably going to be curious about the actors too.
But I think it becomes unfair when every interaction is analysed so heavily. They should be able to enjoy working together without fans expecting a relationship or an explanation of their private lives.
Hudson put it clearly, saying, “Shane and Ilya are for everyone, Hudson and Connor for ourselves.”
He said they get to decide what they share, rather than fans telling them they’re giving too much or too little.
Now Connor has replied underneath a post about Hudson’s comments, writing, “Absolutely”.
I agree with them. Playing a convincing couple is their job, and being good at it shouldn’t mean they have to keep that romance going once filming stops. Fans can enjoy the story without needing it to be real.
Before you go, I wanna know… are some fans expecting too much from Hudson and Connor off-screen?
