Amanda Batula has responded after Kyle Cooke publicly voiced his concerns about her following his comment about West Wilson.
Kyle accused West of affecting Amanda’s well-being and career in an Instagram comment that was later removed.
He then said he’ll always care about Amanda, despite their differences. He admitted that things have been emotional and frustrating, and that he sometimes lets his feelings get the better of him, but stood by his concerns.
Kyle wanted them both to share their perspectives on “In the City”, while acknowledging that Amanda makes her own decisions.
But Amanda has decided not to return for season two, saying the online criticism has made her unwilling to put herself out there again.
Honestly, I can understand Kyle worrying about someone he cares about. But if she’s already stepping away because of the attention, discussing her wellbeing publicly could give her even more to deal with.
I’d rather someone check on me privately than leave me feeling I need to reassure everyone online.
Now Amanda has replied underneath a post about Kyle’s message, writing, “I’m fine.”
To me, that sounds like she wants people to stop worrying on her behalf. I think Kyle can care about her without continuing to make those concerns public.
