Claudia Winkleman has called out Maya Jama for missing Friday’s Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked finale.
Maya reached the final, where Romesh and Sebastian won, but wasn’t there when the cast reunited afterwards. Michael Sheen and James Acaster were also absent.
She’s currently filming the third series of The Gentlemen and preparing for her annual Halloween party in London. Kenny and Leigh-Anne are among the co-stars expected to attend.
Honestly, I would have liked to hear Maya discuss the final, especially after she got so close to winning. But if filming clashed with the reunion, I can understand why she couldn’t make both.
I also think inviting people from the show to her party makes the suggestions of cast tension less convincing. She’s still planning to see them, just away from the reunion cameras.
Now Claudia has commented underneath a post about Maya’s absence, writing, “Should’ve been there!! I know people get busy though”.
I read that as her wishing Maya had come without being annoyed about it. You can miss someone at an event and still understand why they weren’t available.
It’s still disappointing for viewers who wanted the whole cast together, but I wouldn’t expect her to rearrange filming for it.
Before you go, I wanna know… should Maya have prioritised the reunion?
