Val has reacted to Jenna Dewan and Alan Bersten’s emotional Dancing With the Stars routine.
Alan stepped in as Jenna’s temporary partner after Val was suspended over a controversial social media post directed at judge Carrie Ann Inaba. So there was already plenty of attention on how Jenna and Alan would do together.
They danced a Viennese waltz to “Unchained Melody”, dedicating it to Jenna’s mom, Nancy Lee Bursch, who joined them during rehearsals. Jenna explained how her mum put her own struggles aside to support her daughter’s dreams, which made the routine probably the most emotional one of the night.
The dance earned them 37 out of 40, and Carrie Ann called it “the ultimate breakthrough”. Jenna’s fiancé, Steve Kazee, was also brought to tears.
But Val has now weighed in himself. Underneath a post about the performance, he commented, “10 out of 10”.
I think that’s a really nice show of support, especially while he’s away from the competition. Val’s comment suggests he was impressed, and Alan deserves credit for stepping in and helping Jenna deliver such a personal routine.
