Chris Brown has called out Jay-Z for choosing himself as the Super Bowl 2027 performer.
Jay-Z has overseen the halftime show through Roc Nation since 2019, but the report suggests he could now take the stage himself. Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber were also named as potential options.
I can see the appeal of Jay-Z. He’s marking 30 years since Reasonable Doubt and 25 years since The Blueprint. He currently did three new concerts and they all sold out and did well too.
At the same time, he hasn’t released an album since 2017, and his last major hit was in 2013. His catalogue has plenty of classics, but I can understand why some people might question whether he’s the strongest fit for a halftime show watched by millions.
Then again, Jay-Z could bring out some major surprise guests, so it could end as a really good show if he gets everything right.
Chris Brown has now made his feelings clear. Underneath a post about Jay-Z potentially headlining, Chris commented, “Should’ve been me”.
That sounds like Chris feels he should’ve had the opportunity instead, and I’m not surprised as he does seem more relevant than Jay these days.
Before you go, I wanna know… should Chris Brown have been picked instead of Jay-Z?
