Alex Cooper has responded after Sofia Franklyn revealed how betrayed she felt during their Call Her Daddy fallout.
Six years after their podcast partnership ended, Sofia is sharing more in her memoir, Daddy Issues. She says she discovered Alex was earning more while they negotiated their contracts, without her knowing.
They weren’t just co-hosts; they were close friends who lived together. So the pay difference would have made this about more than money.
Sofia describes feeling betrayed. She wrote, “When did she start making more money? Why wouldn’t she just tell me about it? Not just as a friend, but while we’re sitting in meetings and calls for six months working for fair pay. As co-owners.”
I can understand why that would be difficult to move past. When friendship and business mix, you’d expect honesty while securing fair pay.
Alex responded underneath a post about Sofia’s revelations, writing, “I’d rather just not at this point. It just feels so slimy”.
To me, it sounds like Alex doesn’t want to revisit the fallout publicly, and it seems that she thinks it’s wrong that Sofia is speaking out about her.
