Steph Curry has reacted after Ayesha’s role in Second Chance Holiday got him a lot of backlash.

Ayesha plays a woman who dates other men before finding love with her high-school sweetheart. People have connected the storyline to her previously saying she still wanted male attention despite being married to Steph.

Honestly, I think that’s a reach. She’s playing a character in a romantic comedy, and dating different people before finding love is hardly an unusual storyline.

I can understand her old comments being controversial, but I don’t think they need to follow her into every project. Accepting an acting role doesn’t mean she wants her character’s life.

And I think it’s unfair if any romantic scene she films becomes another discussion about whether she’s happy with Steph. Actors play people whose choices are completely different from their own all the time.

Now Steph has commented underneath a post about the film, writing, “Good movie”.

To me, he’s supporting his wife’s work rather than entertaining the comparisons people are making about their marriage.

I actually like that response. He doesn’t need to defend their relationship every time someone brings up something Ayesha said years ago.
