Ami Charlize has said she isn’t speaking to her parents following her move to Plymouth to live with her boyfriend, Oliver Irow.
Ami moved from her hometown to be closer to Oliver after he joined Plymouth Argyle on loan from Tottenham. But she’s admitted feeling lonely when he’s out training or making other plans.
Honestly, I can understand why she’s finding it difficult. Moving away from home for your relationship is a big adjustment, especially when your boyfriend already has a routine, and you’re trying to find your own.
Her parents had previously supported the relationship, publicly saying they were proud of her and wanted her to be happy. So hearing they’re now not speaking is quite a change.
I don’t think that automatically makes Oliver responsible, though. Feeling lonely after a move and falling out with your parents aren’t necessarily connected, even if people are putting them together.
Now Ami has commented underneath a post about the situation, writing: “Not speaking to my parents at the moment, but things will get better. Worry about your own lives, guys. Be happy. Stop caring about drama”.
To me, she sounds hopeful they’ll sort things out, but fed up with people discussing it. I get that, although mentioning the falling-out is only going to bring more questions.
Before you go, I wanna know… would you move away from your family to live with a partner?
