Shirley Ballas has addressed speculation that she could leave Strictly after making her American judging debut on Dancing with the Stars.
She travelled to Los Angeles for Halloween week, taking an opportunity she’s wanted for years. According to The Sun, the appearance raised questions about whether she could eventually move to the American show.
Her son Mark Ballas also competes there, so Shirley got to judge him for the first time.
And she didn’t go easy on him. She gave Mark and his partner a seven, while another couple received a perfect ten.
Honestly, I think that makes her appearance more interesting. Working on the same show as your son sounds nice, but having to give him the low score could make things a little awkward afterwards.
But Shirley has explained that the trip fits around her BBC commitments. Speaking to Prima, she said she’d fly back in time for Strictly’s next live show.
She also made her position clear, saying, “I’m 100% not leaving Strictly!”
I think that settles it. She can enjoy an opportunity in America without giving up her regular job, and I can understand wanting to try both before considering anything permanent.
Before you go, I wanna know… would you like Shirley to judge both shows, or should she stick with Strictly?
