Jude Bellingham Says Why He Won’t Apologise For His Dig At World Cup Referee

Jude Bellingham has spoken out about his dig at a World Cup referee, and he’s clearly not backing down.

New referee camera footage released by FIFA shows Jude confronting Ismail Elfath after England’s 2-1 defeat to Argentina. As the ref walked away, Jude said, “Some shocking ones there, but all the best.”

After the final whistle, Jude tapped Valentín Barco on the back of the head, which led to a shove. Cristian Romero was also seen winding Jude up as the game ended, and that’s when everything seemed to boil over.

Honestly, I can understand why emotions were running so high because this was such a heated match. To me, though, it looked like frustration had completely taken over by the final whistle, and you could tell the players were still mad long after the game had finished.

Now Jude has addressed the moment.

He commented underneath a post about the footage, saying, “Don’t regret it”.

I actually think that response says everything. To me, he’s making it clear he still believes the officiating had a big impact on England’s chances, and he’s not interested in taking his comments back just because people are criticising him.

Before you go, I wanna know—do you think Jude was right to confront the referee, or should he have let it go?
