Shakira Khan has reacted to the talk about her being mean to Yasmin on the set of Love Island: The Debrief.
Viewers noticed that Shakira regularly disagrees with Yasmin and rarely looks directly at her while she is speaking.
Honestly, I think either behaviour on its own could be harmless. People disagree on panel shows all the time, and not everybody maintains eye contact during every conversation.
The reason this feels different is that viewers believe both things keep happening together. When someone repeatedly challenges another person without looking towards them, it can start to feel more personal.
What stood out to me is that people are reacting to their overall energy rather than one major comment. They are noticing a pattern in the smaller moments, which is why the conversation keeps growing.
At the same time, these debriefs are edited, and we only see a part of their interaction. I think it is possible that Shakira and Yasmin could be completely fine when the cameras are not focused on them.
Now Shakira has responded underneath a post about the criticism, saying, “This is so silly”.
To me, she clearly thinks viewers have created an issue that does not exist. However, I actually think dismissing it without explaining their relationship may make people watch their next interaction even more closely.
Before you go, I wanna know, is Shakira being misunderstood?
