Yan Ravnik has responded after Gleb criticised his choreography during a livestream.
Gleb was watching this season’s performances with fellow former pro Artem when he started questioning the current dancers’ techniques.
He compared one of Connor Wood’s hand movements with Alan’s, without naming him. Artem asked who he meant, and Gleb only gave one clue: the name starts with A. Fans quickly worked out he was talking about Alan.
This wasn’t the first time Gleb had questioned him either. Last month, he challenged why Alan was chosen to step in for Val during his one-week suspension.
Gleb also turned his attention to Yan’s Contemporary routine with Tatyana, saying the choreography “wasn’t impressive”, and said he found it boring.
I can see why the comments have annoyed fans, especially when their performances this week were highly acclaimed. But Jan has now responded.
Underneath a post about Gleb’s comments, Jan wrote, “I’ll be fine knowing this”.
I like that Yan hasn’t turned it into a back-and-forth. He seems more interested in letting his dancing speak for itself than arguing with Gleb.
Before you go, I wanna know… was Gleb being fair with his criticism, or was he too harsh?
