Jenna Johnson has responded after viewers accused her and Val of trying to outshine their Dancing With the Stars partners.
After Disney Night, some viewers felt Jenna and Val were making performances more about themselves than the celebrities they were dancing with.
Someone defended them, saying they are extraordinary dancers and, even if they sometimes do a little too much, their dances are always beautiful. I saw that people also argued Disney Night wasn’t the time to accuse them of outshining their partners.
Tatyana Ali also suggested her team reflected who she wanted around her. She agreed with someone who suggested Jenna and Val’s recent controversies may have influenced her decision not to choose them or Harry.
As Jenna faces criticism over the lift situation, I can see why people have connected these discussions. But there’s a difference between bringing experience to a routine and taking attention away from your partner. Being a strong dancer doesn’t mean you’re outshining them.
Jenna has now weighed in underneath a post about the accusations, writing: “No.”
