Megan has finally spoken out after she and Daniela missed Katseye’s Boston VIP events.
The group’s community manager said both members would miss the group photo, soundcheck and Q&A while resting and receiving care. The main concert was still scheduled to go ahead.
Honestly, I can understand why fans were disappointed. If you’ve paid extra to meet Megan or Daniela, finding out they won’t be there changes a big part of the experience.
But I don’t think that means either of them should feel pressured to turn up. Resting before a concert makes sense, especially when performing itself takes so much energy.
For me, any discussion about compensation should be with the organisers. Fans can ask for refunds without making Megan and Daniela feel guilty for needing care.
Now Megan has commented underneath a post about the announcement, writing, “we are so so sorry. we love you”.
I feel bad that she’s having to apologise for being unwell. I appreciate her acknowledging the disappointment, but she hasn’t chosen to let anyone down.
I do, however, think that the label should explain whether or not the fans can get refunds, though, as obviously what happened isn’t fair to the fans.
