Megan Thee Stallion has responded after a ChatGPT prompt appeared on her Apple Music lyrics page, leaving people questioning its presence.
A screenshot showed what looked like an AI-generated songwriting prompt on the page for her song “Is You Cool”.
It began by saying, “Here’s an original melodic rap/R&B set you can build around”, before going into the lyrics.
I can see why people questioned it. Seeing a ChatGPT-style response alongside song lyrics is unusual, but the screenshot doesn’t show who added it or whether Megan had anything to do with it.
That matters, because something appearing on an artist’s music page doesn’t automatically mean they uploaded or approved it themselves. Blaming Megan without knowing how it got there would be a leap.
Now Megan has responded to the speculation, making it clear she doesn’t want to be connected to the prompt.
Underneath a post about the situation, she commented, “you obviously know this is nothing to do with me”.
I can understand why she’d push back if people were holding her responsible for something she says wasn’t her doing, and I believe her.
