Mark Ballas has broken his silence on his feud with Witney Carson after co-stars said they don’t even want to be in the same room.
Alexa and Carlos PenaVega said he and Witney didn’t speak at all on set.
They competed in 2015, with Alexa partnered with Mark and Carlos dancing with Witney.
On their LexLos podcast, Alexa said they weren’t getting along, which made rehearsals difficult. She and Carlos wanted to practise together but had to keep things separate.
Honestly, I think that would be frustrating. They were trying to learn their routines, and their partners’ disagreement was getting in the way of them helping each other.
I don’t think Mark and Witney needed to be best friends, but I’d expect them to manage being in the same room while working.
Carlos also described Mark as creative and keen to try things outside the box, which meant a lot of work.
Now Mark has commented underneath a post about the claims, writing, “I have respect for everybody”.
To me, he’s trying to keep things civil rather than get into an argument about something from years ago. I appreciate that, although I’d still be interested to hear his explanation for why rehearsing together was apparently such a problem.
