Adela competed on Dream Academy in 2023 but didn’t make the final lineup. Now she’s reached around 39.4 million monthly listeners, compared with Katseye’s 34 million.
Honestly, I think that’s pretty impressive, especially considering Adela was once competing for a place in the very group she’s now ahead of on Spotify.
After leaving Dream Academy, Adela built her solo career, signed with Capitol Records and released her debut album, Prima, in September.
Songs like “Ain’t in LA” and “Nicole Kidman” have gained attention, with Madonna even joining the trend online.
What stood out to me is how differently their careers have developed. Katseye have become internationally recognised, while Adela has managed to build her own audience.
Of course, monthly listeners don’t tell us who’s more successful overall, but I actually think these numbers show how well Adela has done independently.
And Manon has now reacted to her success herself.
Underneath a post discussing Adela’s Spotify numbers, she commented: “the music is just so good”.
