Macklemore has responded to calls to ban him from entering the UK ahead of his Wembley concert.
Members of the House of Lords have urged the Home Secretary to intervene over concerns that some proceeds from the show could go to an organisation facing serious accusations.
The organisation denies those claims, but the peers argue that allowing Macklemore into the country wouldn’t be in the public interest.
They’ve also suggested that fans could support other humanitarian organisations instead.
Macklemore announced this tour after being removed from Ed Sheeran’s tour following comments he made onstage.
And although plenty of fans supported his decision to organise his own shows, there are a lot of people who don’t want this to happen.
I can understand why people want answers about where the proceeds could go, but preventing an artist from entering the country is a bit too much.
Now Macklemore has reacted to the proposed ban himself.
Underneath a post discussing the situation, he simply commented: “Speechless”.
To me, he sounds stunned that things have reached this point, especially because it’s so close to the date.
Before you go, I wanna know, do you want the concert to go ahead?
