Kylie Jenner has reacted after Adrianne Curry criticised Victoria’s Secret for choosing her to walk in this year’s fashion show.
Adrianne, who won America’s Next Top Model, made her feelings clear during a livestream. She called Kylie “not a model”, claimed she doesn’t have a “model’s frame” and questioned why she was wearing the famous Fantasy set.
I can understand the argument about giving professional models more opportunities, especially when Victoria’s Secret used to be known for building its own modelling stars. At the same time, Kylie brings a massive audience to the show, and that kind of attention is clearly valuable to the brand.
The Fantasy set made Kylie’s appearance even more significant, as it returned to the runway for the first time since 2018. That added another reason for people to debate whether a celebrity was the right choice for such a major moment.
But Kylie has now responded to Adrianne’s criticism without saying a word. Underneath a post about the situation, she left four sleeping face emojis.
To me, I think that’s the right response. Kylie was asked to be there, and it’s unreasonable to expect her to turn it down.
