Jenna Dewan has broken her silence after Val was suspended from Dancing With the Stars.
After Jenna Johnson received criticism from judge Carrie Ann Inaba during Super Bowl Night, Val posted, “You almost saw Fresh Prince enter the ballroom last night.”
The comment referred to Will Smith going for Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.
I can understand Val wanting to defend Jenna, but bringing that moment into a disagreement with a judge was a bit too much. Producers suspended him from next week’s show, saying his post was wrong and didn’t reflect the show’s values.
Val apologised, admitting he made a “poor decision” and regretting his “bad judgment”.
He said, “In a moment where my instinct was to defend my wife, I made a poor decision to reference a meme to ‘keep my wife’s name’ out of the conversation.”
He also said Carrie Ann “certainly didn’t deserve to get put in the middle” and apologised for putting her in that position.
Now Jenna Dewan has weighed in too. Underneath a post about the situation, she commented, “This is just an insanely sad and emotional week”.
