Jade Thirlwall has reacted to Leigh-Anne Pinnock calling out someone who called her a flop over her streaming numbers.
It started when someone compared Leigh-Anne’s figures with Jade’s, writing, “See what happens when you’re a positive encouraging role model to younger girl groups versus a flop that loves drama”.
Leigh-Anne wasn’t having it. She responded saying, “Ok, I don’t usually respond to trolls because I’m generally too busy being a mum, a wife, and just being iconic. But as I sit here in my mansion by the fire, lapping up the fact that I’ve broken records, defied expectations, sold millions of records worldwide.
She carried on by saying: “I helped define an entire era of British pop music; I can’t help but smile. 15 years in this industry, a successful solo career, and still making history. I’m LEGACY status. A daily streaming figure could never define that.”
Honestly, I think Leigh-Anne made her point pretty clearly. She’s reminding people that her career is about much more than one day’s streaming figures.
But Jade has now joined the conversation too. Underneath a post about Leigh-Anne’s response, she simply commented, “Why I love her”.
Before you go, I wanna know… do you think Leigh-Anne was right to respond, or should she have ignored the comparison?
