Eamonn Holmes has reacted after Ruth Langsford broke down in tears on Loose Women.
Ruth became emotional as she explained that Maggie, who was 16, had passed away last week after developing an infection very quickly.
While speaking about her final moments, Ruth said: “We were with her to the end. It’s very sad, but it was very peaceful.”
And what really got me was Ruth explaining how their son Jack rushed home to say goodbye.
She said: “I believe Maggie waited for him; I really do.”
Honestly, I think that’s heartbreaking. When a dog has been part of your family for 16 years, I can understand why saying goodbye would be so difficult.
And although Ruth and Eamonn separated in 2024 after 14 years of marriage, Maggie was still someone they both loved.
But Eamonn has now reacted to Ruth’s emotional moment himself.
Underneath a post about her appearance on Loose Women, he commented: “Still wishing the best for you, Ruth. You’re a strong one.”
I actually think that’s a really sweet response, especially considering their separation. Whatever happened between them, Eamonn clearly understands how much Maggie meant to Ruth.
