The sentence is suspended for 12 months, meaning he won’t go behind bars immediately. It relates to a February 2023 incident involving music producer Abraham.
Chris admitted a public disorder offence in July. During the proceedings, it was heard that he struck Abraham with a bottle. HoodyBaby also admitted his involvement.
Chris was taken into custody when he returned to the UK for his world tour in May 2025.
Before sentencing, Judge Tony said, “Your fame, commercial success and professional standing do not entitle you to special treatment. The rules apply equally to everyone.”
I agree with that. Having millions of fans shouldn’t mean being treated differently from anyone else. However, this is obviously not the case, because Chris has clearly gotten away with this.
Now Chris has commented underneath a post about the sentence, writing, “Focusing on music”.
Obviously he wants to move on with his career. But I’d have preferred a response acknowledging the incident, rather than only talking about what he’s doing next.
Before you go, I wanna know… do you think a suspended sentence was enough?
