Manon has reacted after Adela overtook Katseye in monthly Spotify listeners.
Adela now has 34 million monthly listeners, just ahead of Katseye’s 33.9 million. It’s a close gap, but I actually think it’s a pretty impressive milestone considering how much attention Katseye have received.
Adela’s “Ain’t In LA” is nearing 201 million streams, while “Nicole Kidman” has passed 122 million and “KGB” is over 50 million.
Katseye have impressive numbers too, with “Animal” passing 193 million streams, “Hootie Fruitti” reaching over 104 million and “Iconic By Mistake” exceeding 213 million.
Honestly, I think what’s interesting is that Adela has managed to reach a similar audience to an entire group. And while monthly listeners change constantly, it’s still a pretty big achievement for her.
But what stood out to me was Manon’s reaction to the comparison.
Underneath a post about Adela overtaking Katseye, she commented: “so proud of her”.
I actually love that response. Instead of treating Adela’s success as something negative for Katseye, Manon is celebrating her. I think that says a lot about how she views the comparison.
