Franco Colapinto has reacted after Lando Norris shaded him and said some drivers “shouldn’t be in Formula 1.”
Lando made the comment while discussing how he felt at the end of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, saying: “At the end of the day, I just felt taken out. Just some drivers that shouldn’t be in Formula.”
Honestly, that immediately made me wonder who Lando was talking about because he didn’t actually name anyone, but everyone came to the conclusion that he was talking about Franco.
And because Lando made the comment after the incident during the race, I can understand why people thought that it was about Franco.
To me, it’s also a pretty strong thing to say. Being frustrated after an incident is one thing, but suggesting someone shouldn’t even be in Formula 1 takes it much further.
What I found interesting is that Franco clearly saw the clip afterwards, so he was aware of what Lando had said and how people were interpreting it.
But instead of directly calling Lando out or explaining whether he believed the comment was aimed at him, Franco kept his response extremely simple.
Underneath the video, he left four shrugging emojis.
