Eminem has spoken out about Vince Staples’ new album, and what he said shocked me.
Vince has always been far too versatile to be pinned down to a single style. Even before creating his own Netflix series, he had a wandering ear as a recording artist.
He is a rapper, but likes to expand his boundaries, which seems to have worked big time with this album.
Vince has previously done dance sounds and electronic beats. It was only a matter of time before he finally made an album heavily influenced by rock music.
Lyrically, the album is rooted in the soul-searching commentary that has made him so loved by fans, and I think it’s great that he is not afraid to try new things.
Now Eminem has shared what he thinks about the album. Under a post about it, he left a comment. Eminem said, “Early album of the year contender.”
That is huge praise, as there have been some really good albums this year. This just shows that Eminem is a huge fan, and honestly, I can see why.
Eminem definitely knows good music when he hears it, and I think his comment will encourage even more people to give it a listen.
