Brendan Cole has accused Strictly Come Dancing bosses of keeping professional dancers in line by leaving some without celebrity partners.
Brendan, who was removed from the show in 2018, says the selection process has changed. This year, Neil Jones, Aleksandra, Cristian and others are in the professional line-up without partners.
He believes having extra dancers waiting in the background leaves them uncertain about their future. Brendan said, “In my day, my job was secure. Every year I came back, and I had a partner.”
He suggested bosses could use that uncertainty to keep dancers in line, claiming they have “a pool of dancers they can pluck from obscurity” so they can do things their way “without any drama”.
I can understand why that would be frustrating, and I do believe everything he says about this.
However, Brendan admitted he doesn’t know the full reasons behind these decisions and said he could only speculate. A Strictly insider pushed back on his claims and said that the producers are not on a power trip and that what they do is completely normal.
Before you go, I wanna know… do you think Strictly bosses are being unfair to the pros? Or do you think what they’re doing is fine?
