Paris Jackson has reacted after Michael officially became the highest-grossing biopic of all time.
It’s been a huge year for Michael Jackson’s legacy after his new biopic exceeded almost everyone’s expectations. But I don’t think many people expected it to become this successful.
The film has now overtaken Christopher Nolan’s award-winning Oppenheimer to become the highest-grossing biopic ever. According to the latest global figures, it has earned an estimated 977 million dollars worldwide.
What stands out to me is that this wasn’t driven by glowing reviews. Despite receiving mixed reactions from critics, audiences still turned up in huge numbers. I actually think that’s a reminder that very few artists have a legacy powerful enough to fill cinemas almost two decades after their passing.
After the news went viral, Paris reacted underneath a post about the milestone and simply commented, “Proud.”
I actually think people will love what she said, because she’s drawing attention to the success of the movie. This wasn’t just another box office record that we hear of so often; it really is something special, and probably is yet another record that will never be broken.
Before you go, I wanna know, did you expect Michael to become the highest-grossing biopic ever?
