Phil Foden has reacted after Lily Phillips accused his girlfriend, Rebecca Cooke, of treating her badly.
The drama started when Lily claimed she was shooed away after asking Phil for a selfie while he was attending Tommy Fury’s match against Eddie Hall. Lily later said she had no idea Rebecca was Phil’s girlfriend and felt the way she was dismissed was “degrading.”
Lily said: “I didn’t know if he had a girlfriend. In all honesty, I didn’t even know she was with him. When you’re at the boxing, you’re just sitting next to random people most of the time. Usually, when you go up to a celebrity to ask for a photo, you ask them, not the people around them.”
That quickly divided people online. Some defended Rebecca, saying she was simply protecting her family, while others felt there was nothing wrong with Lily politely asking for a photo and that she could have been turned down more respectfully.
Now Phil Foden has stepped in and left a comment underneath a post about the situation and said, “Needs to stop clout chasing”.
Personally, I think Phil’s comment makes it clear how he sees the situation. Whether people agree or not, it doesn’t sound like he believes Lily isn’t really upset, and she’s just trying to get views.
Before you go, I wanna know, do you think Lily was clout chasing?
