The rumours about Love Island UK having a low budget this year have just been confirmed.
People are voicing serious frustrations about the overall production value and pacing of the current season.
The main talking point right now is the reduced physical presence of host Maya Jama. Fans are constantly wondering why she is barely around to stir the pot in the villa.
The villa in Mallorca is also facing a lot of criticism. Producers opted for a retro refresh with splashes of blue and pink rather than an entirely new layout.
I think the core design is starting to look a bit dated compared to the massive, high-budget villas in other versions like Love Island USA.
One source said, “They’re working with a much lower budget. It’s the lowest budget the show has ever had. The viewing figures aren’t great, and the budget reflects it.”
This completely explains why the whole setup feels so much cheaper this season. I personally think that the show can still afford to spend more money than this.
Even though it’s not getting the same amount of viewers it used to, the show always has major sponsors and goes viral every single day. I definitely think that, if they want the show to succeed more, they need to spend more money.
Before you go, I wanna know, do you think the low budget is ruining this season of Love Island?
