Victor Wembanyama has called out a fan for filming him reading in the park, and he’s super annoyed about it.
A video showed him spending time in Manhattan’s Gramercy Park. I honestly think it’s very cool that he has hobbies outside of basketball.
He was spotted on Sunday before Game 3 of the NBA Finals. According to fans who were there, he was sitting on a bench drawing a statue of Edwin Booth, a famous Shakespearean actor.
After his team won Game 3 on Monday night, Victor was asked by reporters to rate his artwork. He said, “Not bad. Pretty good.”
Keys to Gramercy Park are strictly reserved for people who live right along the park or belong to specific local clubs and churches. Because of this, nobody knows how Victor gained access to the space.
This is not the first time Victor has enjoyed the city’s green spaces; he previously played chess with strangers at Washington Square Park in 2024.
Now Victor has reacted to being seen in the park. Under a post about it, he left a comment. He said, “You never know when someone’s filming you”.
I’d say he’s annoyed about being filmed like this. I guess he just wanted some private time, and it was ruined.
Before you go, I wanna know, do you think he should have been left alone?
