Kacey Musgraves has finally said something about Jake Shane questioning her timezone lyric.
This all started because Jake asked Kacey to explain a line from her song called “Slow.” The lyric says the sun is going down, but in Beijing, they are headed out to work. Personally, I felt like the meaning was pretty clear, but Jake told her that he and his friend discuss it every single day.
Kacey told him that it was not some deep secret, and it literally just means what it means. She said, “I was sitting on my porch in Tennessee, and picturing these people around the world, doing their thing over there.” Most of us just thought that she was just thinking about how the world keeps turning, even when we are resting.
A lot of people on social media still think it was a bit strange that Jake didn’t understand the line. This has now turned into a whole media frenzy, and even Variety is writing about the backlash that Jake is getting.
Now, Kacey decided to step in and left a comment under an article about it and said: “It’s fine guys”.
It looks like Kacey is trying to stop people from being mean to Jake. Many people feel this means she is not upset at all, and everyone should just move on from the situation.
Either way, it has given her song even more attention, so she’s probably glad about that.
