Tina Knowles Calls Out New York Times For Saying Beyonce ‘Isn’t A Real Songwriter’

Tina Knowles isn’t happy that the New York Times said that Beyoncé isn’t a true songwriter.

Beyoncé fans are mad after critics explained why Beyoncé didn’t make their list of “the greatest living American songwriters”.

They basically said she’s more of a curator and a performer than someone who actually writes the music.

One critic even compared her to Frank Sinatra and Quincy Jones, saying she’s more like a maestro who puts everything together than a songwriter. Even though their argument makes a bit of sense, her fans aren’t happy about it, and neither is her mother.

Tina decided to step in and left a comment under a post about it and said, “Hmmm.”

I think this response shows she’s deeply unimpressed with how they’ve downplayed her daughter’s talent. She’s obviously keeping a close eye on the disrespect and disagrees with the idea that Beyoncé isn’t a writer.

To me, it feels a bit shady to leave her off the list when she’s such a huge part of the creative process. Even if she works with others, her influence on the final track is usually what makes it a success.

The critics also compared her to Kanye West, saying he uses other people to help create his vision, too, and fans were even more upset with that comparison.

Before you go, I wanna know, do you think Beyonce deserves to be called a songwriter?
