Lara Raj has responded after being spotted partying at a nightclub following Katseye’s cancelled Detroit concert.
A video of Lara out with friends started circulating, and people questioned why she was out when the group’s show had been cancelled. I can understand why the timing caught people’s attention, especially when fans had been looking forward to seeing them perform.
But the concert wasn’t cancelled because Lara chose not to perform. It was cancelled because of another member’s health problem, which was outside her control.
And I think that distinction matters. Being seen at a nightclub doesn’t automatically mean Lara was celebrating the cancellation, or that she didn’t care about fans missing the show.
Lara clearly wanted to address the assumptions being made about her. Underneath a post about the situation, she wrote: “you do know the concert was cancelled because of another member’s health problem, right?”
That’s an important reminder. Fans can be disappointed about missing the show without automatically blaming Lara for something she had no control over.
