Carly Joy has spoken out about Vinnie Hacker refusing to move to be closer to her.
Carly recently explained why long-distance dating has been difficult. She said she and her ex used to live together, but now that she’s in a relationship again, she’s had to get used to living separately.
She and Vinnie live around an hour apart, and Carly admitted the distance has made things inconvenient for her schedule, training and work. She’s getting a lot of backlash because people think it’s wrong for it to be expected that the woman moves for the man.
I can understand why people are questioning the idea of her moving, because relocating for a relationship is a big decision. But I don’t think strangers can automatically decide which person should make that sacrifice. Every relationship works differently, and the decision affects both of them.
Carly has now addressed the criticism herself. Underneath a post discussing her plans to move, she replied, “i know what’s best more than a stranger does”.
That pretty much sums up her position. She’s making it clear that she trusts her own judgment more than opinions from people who aren’t part of the relationship.
