Rihanna has reacted to a viral babysitter story after a toddler fell down the stairs while the babysitter was asleep.
This started after a mom shared a scary home-camera situation involving her young kid and the babysitter she hired.
According to the mom, the babysitter left the toddler upstairs with books and toys, then went downstairs, got under a blanket, and fell asleep.
The mom was watching through the camera and heard her kid crying near the stairs. She tried speaking through the camera and even set off loud alarms from her phone.
But the babysitter still didn’t wake up fast enough, and the toddler fell down the stairs.
That already made people upset. But the part that made the story even harder to understand came after. The babysitter reportedly apologised, then still asked the mom to send her money for the shift.
Now Rihanna has stepped in under a post about it and said, “this is wild”.
The fall was already scary, but asking to be paid afterwards made people feel like the babysitter didn’t fully understand how serious the situation was.
I get that people expect to be paid for work. But babysitting is different because someone is trusting you with someone who can’t fully protect themselves.
