Paul Anthony Kelly has addressed the backlash for what he said about Beyoncé, and he doesn’t seem to be backing down.
It all started when he was asked about his favourite Beyoncé song while walking into the Met Gala. Paul simply shrugged and said, “I don’t know. I’m a metal head,” which many people felt was a very rude thing to say.
Because Beyoncé was actually one of the co-chairs for the gala this year, fans are calling his response disrespectful. At the same time, people are saying it’s impossible to live in the modern world and not know at least one of her songs.
However, some people are defending Paul, saying he was just being honest about his taste in music. They believe we should normalise people having different interests without seeing it as a problem.
Either way, Paul has decided to step in and has left a comment under a video about it, saying, “People are making this into a bigger deal than it needs to be.”
It seems he wants to move past the drama, but fans are still very divided over whether he was being shady to Beyoncé. Most people are saying that he definitely was being mean.
Before you go, I wanna know, do you think he deserves the backlash? Or do you think people are being too over the top about all of this?
