Skims has taken down its $148 advent calendar from its website after receiving criticism over what’s inside.
The 12-day calendar was released as part of the brand’s Christmas collection, but people weren’t happy when they started opening their boxes.
Instead of clothing or some of the products Skims is known for, customers received scrunchies, hair ties, bobby pins, small clips, keychains and a branded squishy.
Honestly, I was quite surprised by how little was included, especially when the calendar costs nearly $150.
But now, after all the criticism, Skims has replaced the purchase button on its website. It now says it’s not available and gives fans the option to sign up for a waiting list.
I actually find that quite interesting because the calendar was available to buy before people started complaining about what was inside.
Of course, it could’ve simply sold out, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Skims has decided to stop selling it because of the backlash.
And personally, I think the criticism is fair. For $148, I would’ve expected a lot more than a few hair accessories and keychains.
I actually think they might leave it off sale for the rest of this year and come back with a much better calendar next Christmas.
Before you go, I wanna know… do you think Skims stopped selling the calendar because of the backlash, or has it simply sold out?
