Rihanna has reacted after Kim Kardashian faced backlash over the Skims $148 advent calendar.
This year’s accessories calendar has left people questioning whether it’s actually worth the price.
Inside are three keychains, hair scrunchies, bobby pins, a stress ball and large hair clips. And honestly, I can understand why people aren’t impressed. For almost $150, you’d expect something a little more exciting than a collection of small accessories.
Last year’s Skims calendar included shapewear and other items, but it cost over $500. This year’s version is much cheaper, and Skims says each item should have a value of at least $12.
But that’s where I think the problem is. Just because the items have a stated value doesn’t mean customers feel they’re getting their money’s worth. When you’re spending $148 on an advent calendar, you’d expect opening each box to feel a little more special.
Now Rihanna has joined the conversation. Underneath a post about the calendar, she simply commented, “whew”.
It’s only one word, but with so much criticism surrounding the contents, it does seem like she’s joining in and making fun of it.
