A Netflix star is getting called out after making an out-of-touch comment about homeless people in New York.
This started during a street interview where she explained that she lives in New York, doesn’t pay rent herself, and that her boyfriend pays around $8,000 a month in the Financial District.
She also said she works as a real estate agent and sells buildings, with her income ranging from $70,000 to $1 million, depending on her work and deal flow.
But when asked the minimum amount someone needs to live comfortably in New York, Jade said, “I feel like the homeless people on the street are pretty comfortable, too, so you don’t really have to make anything.”
Honestly, I had to listen to that twice because it sounds like something from a parody.
Saying that after admitting she doesn’t pay rent in New York is exactly why people think reality stars are disconnected from real life.
People are reacting because homelessness is not a comfortable lifestyle. It is a serious struggle, and her answer made it sound like money barely matters.
To me, that’s why the comment made people angry. It sounded so careless about something many people are struggling with every day.
Before you go, I wanna know, was Jade completely out of touch?
