Mike Shinoda has confirmed Linkin Park’s upcoming documentary, Unshatter, will not include the Chester Bennington era.
This started after fans learned the film will focus on the band’s current chapter, not the older years of Linkin Park.
That detail surprised people because some material from the Chester era was filmed before Chester passed away.
For many fans, Chester is not just part of the band’s past. He is one of the biggest reasons people connected to Linkin Park in the first place.
So when Mike confirmed the movie would not include that era, it felt emotional, even though the decision had a clear reason.
Unshatter is not being framed as a full Linkin Park history film. It is about the band rebuilding itself after everything changed.
The documentary will focus on the new lineup, the new members, and how Linkin Park is trying to move forward.
That makes the direction easier to understand, but it also explains why some fans are disappointed.
Personally, I think this is a risky choice. Linkin Park can tell its new story, but leaving out Chester will always feel heavy because his voice and story are still the heart of the band for so many people.
Before you go, I wanna know, should Linkin Park include Chester, or are they right to focus on the future?
