Kenzie from Love Island has responded after her Princess Tiana Halloween costume caused appropriation backlash.
Kenzie dressed up as Tiana, wearing a dress with a matching tiara, and shared pictures of her outfit online.
But not everyone was happy with her choice, and some people started criticising her for dressing up as Tiana, questioning whether it was appropriate.
Honestly, I was surprised by how much criticism she received, because it’s the first time she’s had this much backlash since leaving the villa.
I understand that Tiana is an important character to a lot of people, especially because of what she represents as a Disney princess, so I think it’s a good thing that Kenzie spoke up about all of this.
Underneath a post discussing her Halloween costume, she simply commented, “i’m sorry”.
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting her to apologise, especially when she seemed to be enjoying dressing up for Halloween.
Right now, only time will tell if she is forgiven for this, but right now, the backlash over her costume is still bigger than ever.
Before you go, I wanna know, do you think Kenzie needed to apologise for dressing as Princess Tiana, or do you think it was fine that she dressed up as her?
