Maya Jama may have just revealed her future on Love Island during the live final, and honestly, it made me really happy.
Right at the end of the finale, Maya seemed to drop a huge hint about whether she’ll be back as host. I can understand why some people briefly panicked, but to me, she’s become such a big part of the show that I couldn’t imagine anyone else taking over.
What really stood out to me was how Maya signed off the series.
Speaking to the camera, she said, “Congratulations to you both and thank you to all of our amazing Islanders.” She then told viewers where they could catch up on extra content before adding, “I will see you very soon but for the last time, give it up for our winners!”
Honestly, I actually think that one sentence clears everything up. To me, “I will see you very soon” sounds like she’s already teasing another series, while “for the last time” was clearly about introducing this year’s winners one final time.
I think people started reading into it far more than they needed to, when her wording actually makes perfect sense in the context of the finale.
